New Addition to the Invention Family

PVC decorative film, capable of mimicking a wide variety of patterns on its surface, has become a widely adopted new-age decorative material due to its versatility and numerous advantages. However, among renovation-related pollutants, formaldehyde poses a severe threat to human health. With its long incubation period, it is a primary cause of neonatal malformations, childhood leukemia, and cognitive decline in adolescents. It has been classified by the WHO as a "carcinogenic and teratogenic substance." Long-term exposure to low doses of formaldehyde can lead to chronic poisoning and diseases affecting the respiratory, nervous, and reproductive systems.
As the home furnishing market undergoes rapid transformation, requirements for indoor environmental quality have risen significantly. Consequently, functional indoor materials have emerged, with the selection, application, and promotion of formaldehyde-purifying materials becoming a focal point of public concern. Existing PVC decorative materials, however, have historically struggled to balance both the durability and the efficiency of formaldehyde purification.
Building upon our existing material functions—such as mold resistance, antibacterial properties, antistatic capabilities, and negative oxygen ion release—our R&D team began working on a solution in 2020. After two years of intensive effort, involving over a thousand experiments and validations, our invention titled "A Durable Formaldehyde-Purifying PVC Decorative Material, Its Preparation Method, and Application" was formally filed on April 22, 2021. The China National Intellectual Property Administration granted the patent on March 3, 2023. This invention brings a brand-new option to the decorative materials market, adding a breath of fresh air to the living environments of consumers everywhere.
